As affirmed coffee addict, I am horrified by the thought of a bad time to drink coffee, But there is a really smart guy out there that did a study on this (sarcasm intended). Yes, there was. The study has revealed that the worst time to consume caffeine in the day is six hours before bedtime as it can have significant, disruptive effects on sleep. Christopher Drake, PhD of the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, led the study, says that drinking a big cup of coffee on the way home from work can lead to negative effects on sleep just as if someone were to consume caffeine closer to bedtime. I must admit, again as an affirmed coffee addict, this is not a great revelation by any stretch of the imagination. Which begs the question. Why do we need an official study to determine, caffeine will keep you awake? So, Dr. Drake, you could have just asked me.
